The Empress Orchestra® is widely regarded as the World’s #1 Orchestra for Ballroom Dancing and is the 1st choice Orchestra for some of the most prestigious ballroom dancing events to be held anywhere in the World. It is also one of the world’s most versatile orchestras; not only do they play for Modern & Latin Ballroom Dancing they are equally adept at playing for Modern, Latin & Classical Sequence Dancing. In addition to this, they have one of the finest big band libraries in the world and some of the finest dance band musicians in the world to play them.

The Empress Orchestra was born after the retirement of the Irven Tidswell Orchestra and though still in its infancy, after only 6 years, it has established itself as a world-leader for ballroom dance music and become the 1st choice orchestra for the:

Since 2005, alongside the popular Empress Dance Band®, the Empress Orchestra has been Blackpool Tower Ballroom’s #1 choice for its ballroom dancers too. During the past 4 years we have performed to over 240,000 people.

Since its inception 6 years ago, the Empress Orchestra has played dance music for around 400,000 people. When one considers the decline in live bands of any form for ballroom dancing, especially the size of the Empress Orchestra, the achievement to perform to so many at such a consistently high standard has been staggering. These high standards have meant that we are now very highly sought after and have a busy schedule with contracts right the way through to the end of year 2015.

The music of the Empress Orchestra has also been broadcasted to over 70 countries worldwide and listened to by over 125,000,000 people – quite an outstanding fact and this does not yet include China, where their passion for dance would elevate viewing figures to breathtaking heights.
