Dokman Training Weekend 2010
by Ashley Frohlick on Aug.23, 2010, under Events
Many thanks to Tony & Amanda Dokman for inviting me to lecture on ‘Musicality’ in Holland earlier this month (August).
It was a pleasure to be a part of something special and a real privilege to be able to share some of my thoughts and ideas about music with a wonderful group of Ballroom Dancers.
Dank je wel,
Ashley Frohlick
New Look ‘Testimonials’ Page
by Ashley Frohlick on Jul.19, 2010, under Website Changes
We now have a new, more stylish ‘Testimonials’ page here on the Empress Orchestra website for you to peruse at your leisure.
The new “accordion” style page makes it much more pleasing to the eye, less cluttered and much easier to read.
If you are a regular visitor to the Empress site, you may need to refresh your browser page to see the changes made. For most browsers hitting the ‘F5′ button should do it or (Ctrl + R), failing that click on ‘View’ on the browser menu bar and then look for either ‘Refresh’ or ‘Reload’ and click to view the new page. (Best of luck).
I’ve also included some more recent comments from some highly distinguished figures in the world of ‘Ballroom Dancing’ and hope that you will enjoy reading their very gracious comments about the Empress Orchestra.
Best wishes,
Ashley Frohlick
Testimonial – Updates
by Ashley Frohlick on Jul.05, 2010, under Website Changes
I just wanted to bring to your attention that we have added some recent comments to our ‘Testimonials’ page from some pretty well known people in the world of Dance!
I hope that you will enjoy reading them.
I would like to take this opportunity once again to thank everyone for the many wonderful comments that we receive about the music that we perform; your warmth and grace really does make such a huge difference to us.
We will also be making some presentational changes to the ‘Testimonials’ page within the next couple of weeks that will greatly improve the look of this page.
For our Japanese readers the changes will take a little longer to implement, as we have to translate the comments beforehand.
Your comments are welcomed as ever!
Best wishes,
Ashley Frohlick.

by Ashley Frohlick on Jun.09, 2010, under Events
Introducing a beautifully presented training weekend by Tony & Amanda Dokman from 6 – 8 August in Hilversum, Netherlands.
Last year (alongside Tony & Amanda) Andrew Sinkinson lectured and taught in his own inimitable style… This year sees another icon in the world of Ballroom Dancing… Mr. Richard Gleave.
I shall also be lecturing for the very first time in a relaxed, Q & A style session with examples, demonstrations and ideas on how to make it ‘Musical’.
Places are limited and going fast so please book now to avoid disappointment!
For more information please follow the link to the Dokman website. I look forward to seeing you there!

One Year On
by Ashley Frohlick on May.24, 2010, under General News
Well a year has elapsed since we updated the Empress Orchestra website to give it its “new” look and I thank everyone for their comments on its appearance.
Most things have worked quite well; our ‘Home’, ‘Blog’ and ‘Personnel’ pages receiving the most figures along with many people watching the video clips and viewing our photographs.
Since May 2009 we have attracted readers from nearly 150 countries worldwide and have translated virtually the whole of our site into Japanese.
I’ll be reviewing the site’s content after the upcoming Blackpool Dance Festival and shall be updating the ‘Home’, ‘Video’ and ‘Testimonials’ pages in due course. I shall also endeavour to work on the servers for the Newsletters and hope to have the problems fixed in the not too distant future.
If you have any suggestions for content that you would like to see featured pertaining to the Empress Orchestra and the things that we do, please feel free to get in touch.
Best wishes,
Ashley Frohlick
Think of a Title
by Ashley Frohlick on May.21, 2010, under OTHER
Having finished composing and orchestrating the samba for Bryan Watson & Carmen, I now need a title for this new piece of music.
On the Empress Orchestra fan page (on facebook) I’ve asked for suggestions for a name for this brand new samba. Those readers of our blog page who wish to participate can do so via the Empress Orchestra fan page on facebook. It won’t cost you anything, it’s free to join and if you suggest the title that Bryan, Carmen and I decide is most suitable I’ll send you a free copy of one of our CDs.
Have fun and join in, I look forward to reading your suggestions soon.
Best wishes,
Ashley Frohlick

New Samba for Bryan Watson
by Ashley Frohlick on Apr.23, 2010, under General News
Just wanted to let you know that I’ve embarked on a new samba for nine-times World Professional Latin American Champion Bryan Watson. Bryan asked me if I’d write some new tunes for the Orchestra for a venture that he and Carmen are heavily involved with in October (details to follow shortly).
As I know many visitors to the site will be dancing during the forthcoming Blackpool Dance Festival, I just wanted to share the fact that you’ll be hearing (and possibly dancing to) this brand new composition of mine as the piece gets its first airing!
So far I’m really excited about the score, in my opinion it’s as good as anything on our album ‘Always & Forever’, it’s a very different piece of music from the other sambas that we perform and I hope it will inspire great things on the floor!
Fingers crossed Bryan likes it too!
Best wishes,
Ashley Frohlick
