New Look ‘Testimonials’ Page

by on Jul.19, 2010, under Website Changes

We now have a new, more stylish ‘Testimonials’ page here on the Empress Orchestra website for you to peruse at your leisure.

The new “accordion” style page makes it much more pleasing to the eye, less cluttered and much easier to read.

If you are a regular visitor to the Empress site, you may need to refresh your browser page to see the changes made. For most browsers hitting the ‘F5’ button should do it or (Ctrl + R),  failing that click on ‘View’ on the browser menu bar and then look for either ‘Refresh’ or ‘Reload’ and click to view the new page. (Best of luck).

I’ve also included some more recent comments from some highly distinguished figures in the world of ‘Ballroom Dancing’ and hope that you will enjoy reading their very gracious comments about the Empress Orchestra.

Best wishes,

Ashley Frohlick

Testimonial – Updates

by on Jul.05, 2010, under Website Changes

I just wanted to bring to your attention that we have added some recent comments to our ‘Testimonials’ page from some pretty well known people in the world of Dance!

I hope that you will enjoy reading them.

I would like to take this opportunity once again to thank everyone for the many wonderful comments that we receive about the music that we perform; your warmth and grace really does make such a huge difference to us.

We will also be making some presentational changes to the ‘Testimonials’ page within the next couple of weeks that will greatly improve the look of this page.

For our Japanese readers the changes will take a little longer to implement, as we have to translate the comments beforehand.

Your comments are welcomed as ever!

Best wishes,

Ashley Frohlick.

Empress Orchestra ‘Home’ page video

by on Dec.05, 2009, under Website Changes

Album coverI just wanted to bring your attention to our ‘Home’ page video which was uploaded yesterday. For those of you that visit the site regularly, you may need to refresh your screen to view this video as often cached memory will display the previous video displayed. (Happens a lot on mac computers, which I can attest to)!

The footage was shot by Studio Himawari during the 2009 Blackpool Dance Festival, re-edited to feature many of the different styles of dance we perform for and accompanied by a piece of music that I composed for my son, ‘The Boy’. This track incidentally, is only available on our album ‘Always & Forever’.

The video features dancing (set to a cha cha) from the semi-finals and finals of both the Professional Latin and Professional Ballroom Competitions. It also has the current World Champions in both styles and has the final appearance of Mirko and Alessia from Blackpool dancing their trademark tango.

I hope that you enjoy it, it is of course free to view and share should you wish and if you enjoy the music, please support us by buying a copy of the CD – (They make excellent presents if you already have a copy and are stuck for something to buy during the ‘Festive’ period!)

Comments as always welcomed.

Best wishes,

Ashley Frohlick

Empress site now in Japanese!

by on Nov.03, 2009, under Website Changes

As you may have noticed the Empress Orchestra website is now available to be read in Japanese and I am delighted to offer this facility to our many followers from Japan.

Though I only recognise a few of the symbols I think the site looks beautiful in Kanji (text).

There is also a new navigation bar, so you may need to refresh your screen if you visit us often.

If you have any comments you would like to share about the website, please feel free.

Best wishes,

Ashley Frohlick

New Dance Band Video

by on Sep.15, 2009, under Website Changes

EmpDB LOGOWe recently added another piece of video footage to our ‘Videos’ page that is available to view (free of charge) right away.

This particular clip comes from the programme ‘Space Pirates’ and was recorded by the BBC for CBeebies.  It features the Empress Dance Band (the Empress Orchestra’s little brother) performing a Viennese Waltz in Blackpool’s Tower Ballroom.

We, with help from the wonderful dancers, beat off stiff competition from the likes of Ronan Keating and the Jingles to be voted into 1st place by the extremely knowledgeable panel of adjudicators!

(They deemed it the best music if you want to ‘Spin Around’)!

Best wishes,

Ashley Frohlick

New Website, New Blog

by on Jun.19, 2009, under Website Changes

To coincide with the Blackpool Dance Festival 2009 and the launch of the first ever Empress Orchestra album ‘Always & Forever’ I decided it was time for a new-look web site. If you haven’t already taken the time to look through our web site then please feel free to do so now, or bookmark us for the near future.

.

There are loads of photos (some of which can be enlarged) and also videos of the orchestra and dance band plus a new initiative inviting you to become a “Friend” of the Empress Orchestra.

.

It won’t cost you anything to become a member, you won’t be inundated with emails, nor will your details be passed on to any third parties; you might actually win a prize or two.

.

As the site is being updated regularly with plans for more videos and other interesting items, please come and visit us again soon.

.

Best wishes,

Ashley Frohlick
